Innerflex(tm) is a technology that cuts a grid through the entire midsole of the shoe, running both vertically and horizontally. The grid cuts in to the shoe almost all the way down to where the flex grooves from the outsole come up in to the shoe. This reduces weight and increases flexibility in a running shoe dramatically without sacrificing cushioning.
I sell Altras, and once had a customer looking for shoes suitable for Dance Dance Revolution.
In the end, we found that the Rivera 2 was a viable option because of the low drop but also because the Innerflex allowed it to flex downwards somewhat.
That’s something of a benefit to serious DDR players.
